Karbonn is one of the latest mobile phone service providers in India. While the company has expanded its reach, it also has started to manufacturer some of its own phones, with the help of certain mobile designers such as Nokia and others.
For people who are on the KARBONN network and who are looking to use the popular messaging applications WhatsApp, it is important to understand there is no real problem with downloading, installing and using the app. All Karbonn devices (including the A1+, A6 and the K75) run a version of Android 2.4 or above, which is a native operating system that accepts the application. This way, it should not prove difficult at all to get the app up and running. But if you have an older Karbonn model, like the Karbonn a51, K84 or a1, running an older Android (prior to Android 2.3), then follow this step-by-step tutorial to download and install whatsapp on Android 2.2 and 2.3.
Carbon currently sells a large number of different mobile phones. The specifications for all of the phones are slightly different from one to the other, but most of these phones currently have Android 4.4 KitKat installed. Some of the devices still have 4.2 Jelly Bean installed, but the difference with these operating systems should not prove problematic (the devices running Jelly Bean may prove a bit slower launching the application, but outside of this, there isn’t much of a difference.
With the device on, the user needs to select the “Google Play” icon on the device. This loads the Google Play App Store. From there, the user just needs to type in “WhatsApp” into the search field, then select the presented icon once it loads up on the screen. The application is free to use and download, so no personal information is required at this point. Once the user selects the download button the WhatsApp Messenger is going to download onto the device and then automatically install onto the mobile phone.
With WhatsApp installed onto the device, the individual can select the application icon for the first time. When using the app for the first time there are a few setup procedures they need to perform.
First, they need to type in the phone number of the phone they are using. From there, they should check off the “Search for Contacts” option. This scans over the contact list saved on the phone and brings up all of the current people on the contact list that have WhatsApp installed on their own mobile phone. If the user wants, they can check off a notification option that sends everyone else a message asking them to sign up for the service. This message is sent as a standard text message, so for people who have a limited number of tex messages in their plan, sending every person on their contact list an SMS probably is not a good idea and should be avoided.
With the WhatsApp integrated into the device and ready to go, all they need to do is begin typing messages just as they would any other instant messenger application. They can send images and videos if they choose, and the content can easily be downloaded back to the mobile device if they wish to save images sent from other users.
